Fjord Oslo is our free art festival that transforms Harbour Promenade in central Oslo into an large-scale outdoor exhibition of light, open to all.
By taking art onto the streets for three nights, Fjord Oslo invites to a social, powerful and inclusive experience of art and light. Bringing together and commissioning an international program of renowned artists and new talent, this annual celebration is a broad exploration of light art. From projections onto landmark buildings to intimate installations, site-specific light sculptures and immersive video work, Fjord Oslo is dedicated to create to emotional and contemplative experience of light art in an open city setting.

The first edition of Fjord Oslo in 2019 presented artworks from Norwegian and international artists showing for the first time to Oslo audience a wide range of light art. With magnificent video projections on the facade of the City Hall, floating ballet of light at Akershustranda, magical projections on a water screen at Aker Brygge, interactive light installation at Bryggetorget and a mysterious light walk at the hill of Kontraskjæret, Fjord Oslo 2019 presented eight art works by artists from six countries.
